Research & travel grant

DaRSIS offers yearly a DKK 50,000 grant for supporting additional expenses related to a  research exchange visit at research institutions outside Scandinavia.

The objective with the grant is to help facilitate the internationalization and quality improvement of PhD research. In reaching this objective, preference is given to research stays at universities collaborating with the participating institutions.

Eligible expenses include for example costs for collection of data, travel costs associated with interviews, fees for research stays.  The grant does not support conference fee & travel costs, supervision, and per diem costs.

Any PhD student enrolled at one of the participating institutions in DaRSIS can apply for the grant.

The beneficiary is required to make a report about the output of the research stay no later than ½ month after returning to Denmark. 

How to get the Grant

Travel less than 1 Month:

When you return to Denmark your voucher will be reimbursed by the DaRSIS administrator (max the granted amount) Ulla Langballe ul(at)cs.aau.dk

Travel more than 1 Month:

The grant will be paid with 50% before the travel and 50% after the report has been received by the DaRSIS administrator. In addition to that you will get information on rules for documentation of expenses.

Applications can be submitted on ad hoc basis using the application form. See below.

The applications are assessed by the management group of the network twice a year. Applications delivered before June 1^st will be given notification whether they have been approved and at what terms, before July 1^st.  Applications delivered before December 1^st will be given notification whether they have been approved and at what terms, before January 1^st.  DaRSIS reserves the right not
to grant any of the applications and to possible make reductions in the proposed budget items.
